This is going to be a lengthy piece of content, but I think it should do the job to give you the tips of selecting keywords for Google Adwords.

How To Select Your Keywords For Google Adwords

This step is extremely important.

If you choose the right keywords, you'll enjoy targeted traffic that converts into cash-paying buyers.

If you choose the wrong keywords – those that are two vague or too broad – you'll likely drain your ad budget quickly without any sales or other conversions to show for it.

Here's a quick tip that you can use to discover niches you never knew existed...

Simply log into your favorite keyword tool (free or paid) and start running searches for broad terms like this: “how to”, “secret”, “eliminate”, “get rid of”, “buy”, “purchase”, “book”, “guide”, “information”... and so on.

You’ll uncover tons of niches using this amazing strategy – and I’d be willing to bet money you’ll find niches you never even knew existed!

Now back to choosing keywords for known niches and your products...

Choosing the right keywords is a two-pronged process.

1) On the one hand, you can use keyword tools to help you create a list of possible words.

2) However, you must then manually comb through this list to determine how useful each word might be in attracting targeted traffic.

Let me give you an example –

Suppose you created an ebook all about training golden retrievers to be hunting dogs. Now consider this keyword phrase: “golden retriever training.”

At first glance, that looks like a great keyword for your purpose. However, it’s too broad. The “training” could refer to training a dog to go hunting… but most people who type that keyword phrase into a search engine are likely looking for information about obedience training or housetraining.

As such, you might expect to get some traffic from a word like that, but you might also be disappointed in a low conversion rate. Better words for this particular topic might include a phrase like “golden retriever hunting training.” Even better is something more specific to your product, such as “golden retriever hunting training guide.”

While those longer (more specific) phrases might not get as much traffic as a broader (shorter) phrase, you can be assured of getting a higher conversion rate since the searchers are looking for something very specific.

In other words –

The more specific the keywords, and the more related they are to your exact offering, the better response you can expect to get.

Now let’s look at the three-step process of creating a list of targeted keywords…

1) FIND OUT relevant keywords.

Your first step is to find out relevant keywords using a few basic strategies.

Simply brainstorm a list of keywords that you think your market will use to find you and your products. Of course in order to do this, you must understand your market. If you haven’t already previously profiled and researched your market, now is a good time to do so.

You can also determine which keywords your top competitors are optimizing for to get a sense for what words your market uses. Examine their different pages and see if you can tell what words get repeated often. If they use “tags” on their blog entries, check out what keywords they’re using to tag posts.

You may also want to view the document source, which reveals the meta tags for the website. Not all sites use meta tags. However, those that do will give you an idea of what the webmaster had in mind in terms of optimizing for certain keywords. If this is a fairly good marketer, then it’s likely safe to assume that they chose their meta tag keywords after first doing research.

Once you have a general idea of how your market may search to find products like yours, you can move on to step two…

2) FEED your list with new keywords using a keyword tool.

Once you have a short list of keywords your market might use to find you, you can quickly and easily expand that list by using a keyword tool. Google makes it easy since they provide their own keyword tool.

Note: If you already have a favorite keyword tool that you use, then by all means use it. You can copy your own list of keywords into your campaigns.

Go ahead and try the tool right now. It’s free.

Enter in a keyword or phrase and click on “Get keyword ideas”. If you didn’t uncheck the “Use synonyms” box, then you’ll get a nice list of keywords directly related to your keywords, plus related keywords.

Example: If you entered “weight loss” as your original keyword, you’ll get phrases that include those words, such as “fast weight loss.” However, you’ll also get related keywords like “lose weight” and “burn the fat.”

You can add the words individually, or add the entire list to your campaign if you’d like. You can also save the file in different formats (such as text), so that later on you can copy and paste the words into your AdWords ad group.

Quick Tip: Digging down and finding even more related keywords is easy. Simply copy and paste some of the most targeted keywords into the “find keyword ideas” box and start a new search.

By default, you’ll see information about search volume last month and average search volume. But based on the information you provide when you actually start building your keyword lists in your account, you’ll be able to estimate how much traffic you’ll receive from your keywords, the estimated ad position, and how much each click will cost.

You’ll notice that the keyword tool even gives you an idea of when traffic surges for these particular keywords. For example, you can get an idea of the best month to advertise certain seasonal products, like weight loss products, sports related products, holiday products, etc.

Your next step is to manually comb through these lists.

Are the search terms too broad?

Are the search terms specific enough that you have a fairly good idea what the person is searching for?

Keep in mind that certain search words may be coming from searchers who have no interest in what you’re selling.

Example: Let’s suppose you’re selling baseball bats. The term “buy bats” could refer to baseball bats or the flying animal. As such, you’ll need to choose something specific, such as “buy baseball bats”.

Choosing “Buying” Words

As already mentioned –

The more targeted your keywords, the better.

If you’re selling a product, you should be choosing words that indicate the person is interested in buying that particular product.

Example: “Buy shoes” is too broad, especially if you only sell women’s Birkenstock sandals. In that case, a good search term list might include terms like “buy Birkenstock sandals” and “buy ladies Birkenstock sandals” and “buy women’s Birkenstock sandals” and so on.

You’d also want to add specific product names to your search term list. To keep going with the Birkenstock example, you’d include specific names of their women’s shoes, such as “Arizona black suede” and “Madrid Birko-Flor”. You can bet if someone is searching for a product that specifically, they’re probably ready (or almost ready) to buy.

Note: In addition to including specific product names, you’ll also want to consider including words such as “buy” or “purchase” or “free shipping” or “discount”. All of these words – when tacked onto a product name, such as “discount Birkenstock sandals” – suggest that the searcher is a buyer and not a “tire kicker.” Creating these sorts of search terms will increase your conversion rate.

3) FILTER your list to refine your search terms.

In order to attract your target market, you’ll want to refine your search terms based on broad matching, exact matching, phrase matching, and even including negative keywords.

Broad Matching: The default position is “broad match”, meaning that your ad will appear if someone types in any keyword phrase that includes your keyword. In some cases, your ad may appear if related keywords are searched.

Example: If your keyword is “weight loss”, then your ad will appear when someone types in “weight loss secrets” and possibly “lose weight”.

Broad matches appear when you enter your keyword as-is, without quotes, brackets, or the like.

For example, your keyword would look like this in the search list:

weight loss

Exact Matching: Another option is to list some or all of you keywords as exact matches. To do so, you list your keywords in brackets, like this:

[weight loss]

Doing so will ensure your ad only appears when searchers type in that exact phrase.

Phrase Matching: If you’d rather have your ad triggered when people type in your keywords alongside other keywords, then you can put your keyword in quotes, like this:

“weight loss”

Doing so means your ad will appear whether someone searches for “weight loss” or “fast weight loss” or any other search phrase that includes your chosen keyword or phrase.

Negative Keywords: Finally, you can also exclude certain keywords so that those searches do not trigger your ad.

For example, let’s suppose you didn’t want your ad to appear to searchers who are looking for free information. In that case, you would use a minus sign (-) in front of the word free and then add the negative word to your list. Excluding the word free would looks like this:

-free

There you go. All you need to know about getting keywords.

Do you believe that someone without any internet marketing experience can make money online in less than a week?

You see, I'm a strong believer that it's ALWAYS important to build an internet business that can generate income-- not just about making money online.

And as a matter of fact, I get annoyed when anyone asks me a question like...

"Can you teach me how to make money online in a week?"

In my mindset, its 'hard' to make money online for a newbie and it'll take at least 6 weeks to get on the right track. I even think that it's already 'wrong' in the first place to have that kind of silly hope.

**BUT**... I realized how I'm shutting myself and my client's possibilities because I'm being a Smart Alec. I'm being ignorant. There's absolutely nothing wrong with wanting to make money online without spending the time to learn and putting effort, AND wanting to see income in your Paypal within a couple of days.

It is possible and I can prove it to you. No list, no product, no JVs, no nothing.

The only concern is this-- you just got to know how to differentiate a real business and the process of making money online.

An internet business is a platform to make money online. But making money online does not mean you have an internet business.

When you want to make money on the internet, there are two ways to go about it.

The first one is to build a real internet business as mentioned earlier. In this method, normally, you'll select the niche market based on your current expertise, what you like or if it's your hobby. The strategy for this is to dominate the sub-niche of the pursued niche market and grow it 'deep'.

Or build an internet business based on your million-dollar idea like the next facebook.com or something.

The other one is to break the 'rule' of building a real business by setting up as many 'income generators' as you can on the internet. For instance, putting up ads to promote affiliate programs. As you can see, this is really quick because it doesn't require any product creation or even a website.

The game for this is simple too-- the more you can put up on the internet, the higher the chance of success and the richer you'll be. The internet marketing game is very simple to play- the more 'presence' you can have on the internet, the more money you'll start to see.

The good thing about this method compared to the first one is you have minimal risk and you'll start seeing income as you go along.

BUT THERE'S A PROBLEM-- you desperately need speed. If you don't use software or hire people to do the mechanical work for you, you just can't put up enough 'income generators' on the internet. My point is, forget about this option if you're going to do manually - it's just too much work.

But the ultimate business strategy is to combine both options.

Here's how it works - send traffic to the affiliate program by using Google Adwords and see how many clicks you can get. In some profitable niches, you can get thousands of clicks at dirt cheap.

If this is happening, then you should start diverting these visitors to your own landing page (instead of sending the traffic directly to the affiliate program) and get them to subscribe into your list. Bam. Now you get to promote the same affiliate program to your list as many times as you want and keep on promoting other products for maximum profit.

If you're getting good commission for a particular affiliate program and you kind of like that niche market, you can consider creating your own product to sell then.

You Need Nothing More Than A System That Works

I hope you're doing great.

I like to know, what's your ideal income
that you wish to make from the internet?

Now, before you choose to answer that--
I want you to think big.

At the same time, think realistically
(not thinking small).

If you don't have a clue on how to make
money on the internet yet, don't stress
yourself with a far fetched goal like
$10,000 a month. Not only that will be
self-sabotaging but it'll waste your time.

You see, there's a big difference when
to use the idiom, "Aim for the star so
that it'll still be okay if you miss it
because you'll hit the moon" thingy.
You do that WHEN you already know HOW
TO ACHIEVE YOUR GOALS. You can do all
sorts of "Law of Attraction" techniques
and you'll still remain at where you are.

Making money online is based on techniques
(of course, you got to have the right
mindset and attitude to go with it).

To be more precise, it's based on many
techniques combined together to make it
into a 'system'. And the worst part is,
everybody is tossing around with the word,
'system' when they don't really GET IT.
For instance, they call their ebook a
system because it just sounds fancy.

McDonald's business is a system. (By the
way, that's a classic example.)

In my definition, a system can only be

then follow a system.

Where do you find 'systems'?

Obviously, the BEST system is observing
the person who has a working system and
documents his entire process how he
makes money on the internet.

The next one is to create your own system.
Whenever you're doing anything to generate
online income or promote your internet
business, ALWAYS jot down your process.
The reason is simple- if it works, you want
to repeat it again. And maybe, you might
even consider selling it as a separate
business than your existing one.

My Business Is Shrinking On Purpose

I've invested a lot of time and money for the video. AND IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY IMMEDIATE INCOME FOR ME. Nope. But if I was to use that kind of resources on other internet ventures, I would have turned it to at least $5,000 cash. I'm not saying that I'm regretting it- I'm emphasizing a point that you'll catch on after reading this post.

I can remember the reason why I started marketing online 5 years ago- I want to make money and be stress-free from working.

You know, the DREAM.

And I DID achieve that... for a while.

Then in 2007, I bought an office and hired a team.

Yes, I admit, I did made more money online that I will never achieve if it wasn't for this expansion.

But I was back in a 'job' because now I have responsibilities to fulfill and work even more. Well, for those who enjoy the 'game' of being a CEO or Boss, good for them.

Then recession came and it hit me like a whirlwind.

I would be lying if I said my businesses weren't affected. And if any marketers tell you that, watch out.

Good news is, everything is back to normal now because I've changed my direction on other internet business models and strategies like affiliate marketing, focusing on hungry niche markets, building real value websites, etc. I would be almost dead if I just stick to selling internet marketing courses. :-)

Then it strikes me- How I wish I was still working at home without having to pay any fix salaries and commitments. And I would definitely prefer to be at home when my first baby is born next year.

Don't you?

The video you saw earlier is where I am today. Am I not happy with it? Of course not. I like the way it is. Absolutely no complain.

**BUT**... it didn't really turn out to be what I wanted in the first place right? Make a lot of money online without working hard.

That is why my business is 'shrinking' in a positive way- ON PURPOSE. I'm eliminating as many commitments and responsibilities that I have so that I can have more 'freedom'.

As far as I'm concern, the secret to make a lot of money online without working hard is to cut away as many commitments as you can (because it'll give you stress and put you in a job) and don't put yourself in the limelight (because the business will require your attention).

Wait- hold your horses before you start any debate with me about this theory. I am not saying you should not have an office, hire employees or become a famous best-selling author.

I'm saying, the quality of your life is VERY IMPORTANT. Focus on that.

If you've read the book, 4-Hour Work Week (highly recommended, you can get it at Amazon.com), a true 'rich' person is not define by how much money he got but how much he is worth hourly. So say, John Doe makes one million a year but works 7 days, 16 hours a day. He would then earn $171.24 an hour.

Then Sam just work 10 hours a month but earns $1,000 an hour. I would consider Sam to be 'richer' because he has a quality life. This is possible because Sam could be a professional speaker that charges $1,000 an hour. In this case, it's fine to be in the limelight if you can your quality life. Make sense?

Wouldn't you want to work 2-3 hours a day and make as much money as what you're getting from your job?

And if you have your own internet business, wouldn't you want to make the same amount but work less?

Well, you can. That's what I'm doing and focusing on using all kinds of strategies. Like, early this year, I've launched the Niche Marketing 2.0 System for only $997 which will allow the business owner to create an authority site like successandlife.com. This is an example of an auto-pilot internet business that generates income for me.

When your business grows to a level which it's beyond your own management, outsource it. I'm not a guru for this topic but I'm sure if you look around, you can find good books, seminars or courses that will teach you that.

I think this has to stop- idolizing wrong internet marketing idols/gurus.

I'm a fan of Michael Jackson because I like his music and admire his dance moves (apart than whatever accusation that's going on about him).

I'm a fan of Bruce Lee because he really knows how to fight and a man of philosophies.

I'm a fan of Ben Stiller because he is one funny dude. (The actor dude in Something About Mary and Tropic Thunder.)

There are people who idolize internet marketing gurus by fame that are actually not internet marketing gurus.

Let me explain – you should be a fan of an internet marketing guru because he's really good with internet marketing. That makes sense, right?

Like, I respect John Reese, of Traffic Secrets. Not only he's really an expert when it comes to marketing online, but he has the highest integrity that you can find in this circle. When he shared with me the story how he got started, IT IS inspiring. If you have the chance to meet him, ask him to tell you his history.

But dude – it's CRAZY idolizing someone who can make money because he got a list or have some buddies. Let me try to elaborate that in this way...

It's like being a fan to a singer that doesn't sings.

It's like being a fan to a fighter who can't fight.

It's like being a fan to an actor who can't act.

It's crazy idolizing marketing gurus that don't 'do' marketing. They say they know marketing - but what marketing do they actually do? Coming up with a product launch to sell you is not marketing, my friend.

Of course, I'm 100% wrong if the purpose of idolizing the guru is because he can make money online. If that's the case, mind as well you idolize Google's founders. I'm sure they make more.

As far as I know, most marketing gurus do not have any real businesses. And they know marketing- in theories. Ask them to go into an unknown territory to make money online, they'll going to have problem to pay for their cars.

But here's the kicker – if your ideal business on the internet is to build a list and promote internet marketing products, then idolize as much as you want because they are your role models.

And for me, I don't buy the idea of just selling internet marketing products. I'll sell anything on the internet as long as it can make money and do not conflict with my own principles (like I won't sell stolen babies online, you know). Also, it doesn't matter if it's promoting through a list or not.

When you're 'stuck' with one idea, that's where it gets complicated - even if it's a good one.

Bruce Lee once said, "It's easier to defeat an opponent with a knife because he's only thinking on how to use the knife, a single weapon- where else, I have 2 hands and 2 legs as my combat weapons to attack."

Re: Good News In Recessions?

With the current down economy going on, I don't think I want to write any rants in today's Sunday Email Series but instead, talk more positive stuff.:-) And if you THINK recession is not affecting internet marketing, I'm not going to spend the time to debate with you. Despite what you've read or heard from other marketers that YOU CAN MAKE MONEY in recession, part of them are true - but generally, I doubt it.

Call me a negative person if you want, but let point out this to you - an internet business is just the same as running an offline business but it's just using different a platform.

If people are not buying books in local bookstore, they are probably not buying books from Amazon.com too. Make sense?

The odds look pretty good that we'll see a recession this year, and as we learned last time around, that can't be good for commerce sites like eBay and Amazon.

While lots [of] online stores are poised for decent growth (especially as gas prices soar), Cowen & Co. analyst Jim Friedland thinks eBay and Amazon will get pinched as consumers curb spending. It's a pretty reasonable conclusion given that December sales results from national retailers were dismal.

Friedland notes that during the last recession, Amazon only grew North American revenue by 3 percent. To put that number in perspective, in 2006, Amazon grew North American revenue by 25 percent.

There are plenty to read about what's happening with real internet businesses (not those salesletter style stuff you've been seeing) on the internet- I invite you to read on your own research rather than hearing from your 'favorite' marketers that everything's going to be 'okay' and prosperous. This is a Sunday Email - I would rather tell you he truth than sugar coating the reality.

So let’s start with the first good news:

1. SuccessAndLife.com is now ranked on page #1 of Google.com for "personal improvement". Well, it's more like MY good news. J But the reason why I'm sharing this with you is to stress on a point - diversification. If you've diversified your internet businesses rather than just focusing on one profitable one during the good times, you would be okay even with the recession right now. This is just one of my many diversification of internet businesses that I have by using different business model and targeting different niches. In reality, I have at least 10 in my own portfolio. Lesson? It's not too late to start diversifying your internet business now.

2. I'm expecting my first baby next year! :-) I know you might not be bothered about this at all (but if you're sharing my happiness, do leave your comment below), it's good news in one shape or form. Lesson? There are many things happening in your life other than internet marketing or online business - appreciate the good ones.

3. You're going to get better values from the internet marketing marketplace now. With the bad economy, many wannabe gurus will run out of business soon and go back to their jobs. Sound kinda harsh right? But it's good news for you because you'll less lightly to be scammed anymore. :-) You see, most wannabe gurus don't have a real internet business- all they do is to sell internet marketing courses and products. Chances are, only the real gurus will overcome the recession because their internet marketing courses will still be purchased AND they're making money from other real internet businesses.

Also, you'll be getting better value from the courses made available because they might be sold at more affordable prices (because marketers still need to sell their products too) and since marketers will be competing more aggressively now, you'll be expecting to see higher quality courses.

4. Share your good news here. Do you have any good news you can share related to online business, internet marketing or anything you think it's good to share? Thousands read my blog so if you can impact a few, wouldn't that be awesome? I'm sure many wants to hear yours too.

Sunday Email 33: To Survive (And Prosper?)

Marketing online has changed mainly because of these three factors:

1. The web 2.0 effect
2. Savvier consumers
3. More competitors

Especially in the internet marketing niche, factor number 3 is very transparent. Recently, one of my JV partners made a promotion for me- he was able to get only 93 visitors to my salespage. The most shocking part is this- he's the same JV partner who used to send 1,000 visitors in a single email.

The clickthrough drops because the same subscriber is probably subscribed to more lists today.

To win in the competition of mindshare is basically to have a group of JV partners that will continue to promote you so that you're being reminded to subscribers that you're still around- and growing. They call it, mastermind group.

Imagine this- if you're promoting lousy products, it's obvious that you're not going to make good income. And if you promote top notch product, you'll also 'lose' simply because there will be too many marketers promoting and chances are, their bonuses will be bigger than yours.

Lucky for me, I don't have this problem because I have my own list, products, affiliates, reliable JV partners and so on. I know if I want to pull a product launch, I'll have those partners that will support me- yeah, some sort of mastermind group.

But I honestly think that this is not a brilliant plan. What if your JV Partner is unable to command any traffic anymore? OR, your JV partner is now in other 'groups'.

The key to be extremely successful online is still about having your own list. If you want to have a solid business that's unshakeable, then you got to know how to generate your own list without external factors. If you've listened to my interview with Matt Bacak last time, you would understand why list-building is THE MOST IMPORTANT part of your business.

But there are ways how to prevent or overcome this problem. Here how's to cushion it:

1. Build your online business out of the internet marketing niche.

For instance, a big portion of my income is from niche marketing. The internet marketing niche is the niche where it's common to see marketers are required to consistently poach for JV partners. I don't know about you, but frankly, I think that's a little bit ridiculous.

2. Use new tactics and strategies

Whatever strategies or tactics that you've been using a year ago are probably not as effective as it is today. I'm not talking about 'strategy' like writing a salesletter to sell info-product. That's a principle, something that does not change. For instance, if you're not using multimedia on your salesletter, then you're one step behind of your competitors.

3. Generate list from other source

Getting JV partners to build your list is the coolest thing you can have. But how many people out there can do that and also... do you realize that is dependant on other factors (like asking favors)? You got to think outside the box where to find NEW subscribers that is not subscribed to 10 more other list like yours.

I'm doing all.

It's up to you whether you take this piece of tip home and do something about it or disagree with me completely. I have nothing to lose because I know, 10 months down the road, my business will double because I'm doing three of these.

Getting Indexed In Google.com In 24 Hours

Many internet marketers find it difficult to have their website in google.com but there's a trick to get indexed and improve your ranking.

This trick I want to show you will allow your website to be indexed in less than 24 hours (based on our testing result).

First, you use a blog for this technique. If you already have a blog, great. If not, you can always setup one immediately for free at www.blogger.com. Then create an xml-sitemap for it. Don't panic, it's nothing complex and I'm going to point you to the resource that will help you to create your sitemap instantly.

Just go to www.xml-sitemaps.com to create your sitemap in a couple of easy steps.

Once completed, register for "Google webmaster tools" account at www.google.com/webmasters/tools. This is free too.

Now register your website by adding it to your list of websites and upload the sitemap.xml file you created before to your root folder (where you'll upload your index.html file, at www.yourdomainame.com).

After that, you should point the Google webmaster tools to your sitemap.xml file so that their robots will deep crawl and index your website, normally this would not take more than a couple of hours.

You're all set.

So how often you should do this? I would suggest each time you’ve increase the pages of your blog.

Sunday Email 32: About Pissing Others

Re: Pissing Others Is Not An Issue, REALLY

Do you piss other people online- your readers, customers, competitors or whoever?

If you're not, you're not doing a favor for your business.

You know Robert Kiyosaki, right? The guy who wrote Rich Dad, Poor Dad and became a 'guidebook' for people quitting their jobs. It's a bestseller book and you can always get a copy of it at amazon.com.

Here's the interesting part... do a search for his name in Google.com.

On page one of the result, look out for www.johntreed.com/Kiyosaki.html. You'll read some uncool stuff about Robert- it might make you laugh but if you're a strong believer of Robert's teaching, then it's going to annoy you.

The first thing you'll read on this page is this:

Summary:

Rich Dad, Poor Dad is one of the dumbest financial advice books I have ever read. It contains many factual errors and numerous extremely unlikely accounts of events that supposedly occurred.

The reason why Robert pissed off some people is because he HAS reached 'there' (not specifically referring to John's comments because he does has his own logic explanation). The point is, when you have become so successful, you're going to have people who like you and people who hate you for whatever reason regardless of whether they're correct or not. It's a fact, live with it.

IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY- OR LIKE YOU. It can only happen if you only have 10 readers, subscribers or customers- not hundreds, thousands or millions.

So if EVERYONE likes you, you're in trouble dude because I would guess that you're not making as much as money as you could with so little reach.

It's the same thing if your product gets pirated. It's obviously very famous and high in demand. Just see how successful is Microsoft. (PLEASE don't leave a comment to debate about this issue with me here, it'll never end until the cows come home. I'm just stressing on a point about piracy.)

Or your content being stolen- like you blog about a certain topic and the next thing you know, it's on someone's blog but your name's not there anymore! :-) Anyway, I know who are the ones 'stealing' my content and they're reading my post here- AGAIN. This message goes to them: Learn to be creative for a change, will ya?

Look- there are a lot of people who not only dislike me, but hate me. And some get pissed when they read my Sunday Email.

Do I care? Of course! But we have to face the reality that you can't make everyone happy.

The deal is, make sure that those who like you is ALWAYS more than those who don't. Then you're covered and it's a sign that your business is growing.

This is important because of two things- you'll continue to have customers and you'll have those who will stand up for you. So make sure those who like you are being rewarded and get your attention.

By the way, on a totally unrelated topic, I haven't been writing the Sunday Email Series lately. My last one was 6/22/08 which 77 days (that's over 2 months) ago. Why Smart Business Owners Make 10 Times More Profit - This Is How

I pay close attention to any techniques that can lower my cost on advertisements, especially
pay-per-click (PPC) traffic like Google Adwords.

For instance, I'll do what I can to lower my PPC cost from 0.05 cents to 0.03 cents per click.

When I was showing a technique to lower the bid price in Google Adwords in a workshop I've
conducted last time, I can see that one of the attendees sitting wasn’t impressed at all.

So I asked him why.

He immediately responded, "I don't see how saving 2 cents can make me richer."

"It's just not worth doing that Patric, I would rather spend my time testing other traffic methods."

I paused for a few second and smiled. As a matter of fact, I do agree with him for SEEING THAT ANGLE – saving the measly 2 cents is pointless.

That's provided if you just spend $10 to advertise. But if you’re someone spending $500 a day, you're looking at some major savings.

**BUT**... that's still NOT the point. That's the obvious reason but not what I'm looking for.

You see, it's not about saving.

It's about growing your business tremendously.

If you're paying 0.05 cents per click, it means that with a budget of $30 a day, you can get 600 visitors. Simple math.

And assuming that your product sells for $10 and you're getting 3% conversion.

So basically, you'll make $180 ($10 x 3% x 600 visitors) from $30 advertisement spent.

$180 revenue.

Now, let's say you're able to lower your PPC cost to only 0.03 cents – it means you're now driving 1,000 visitors with the same amount of $30 advertisement budget.

Your 'new' income will be:

1,000 visitors x 3% x $10 = $300.

Basically, if you're just able to just lower your PPC cost by 0.02 cents, you've increased your business by 40% profit!

Smart business owners are not concern about saving because it’ll not make them richer.

Saving the $12 ($30 budget - $0.03 x 600 visitors) is not profitable - at all.
You're making $120 EXTRA, not saving $12. What smart business owners see is getting MORE traffic for the SAME amount of advertisement spent. Again, all simple mathematics to get the numbers right and you'll break the bank.

Now, if you're paying 0.10 cent per click and you have a way to reduce it to 0.01 cent instead,
it means you've now automatically grow your business 10 times fold. Congrats.

From $10,000 a year to $100,000. And all it takes is a small 'adjustment' like this, no rocket science.

About those who make money online (and don't)

There are generally three levels of marketers marketing online...

1. Those that haven't make money online before
2. Those that make money but not consistently
3. Those that knows and ARE making money online

I will be able to address each of them and why you're in that level but first - let me share the secret of making real money online.

The first thing is to truly identify what you're trying to achieve. I mean, is your plan is to make money in 24 hours, a week or 6 months later? Do you want to create an instant flux of income, part time income, passive income or to completely replace your job? How about this - do you just want to make money online, to own a business or to create a legacy like owning youtube.com or some kind?

DUDE – KNOWING WHAT YOU'RE TRYING TO ACHIEVE WILL DETERMINE YOUR BUSINESS MODEL.

To stress my point, you can make money in 24 hours by selling some junk on eBay.com or email to your friends with affiliate link to buy a book from Amazon.com. But is that your goal? Or your goal is to make a million dollar online? Well, you can make a million with the right business model and you'll also need understand the efforts needed to put in. But it is POSSIBLE; many have done that including me.

Next is knowing your market. Sounds like some cheesy advice you've heard everywhere- the difference here is, I know what I'm talking about. Say your 'business model' is to write your own ebook and sell it online. That's great but what's the topic and to who?

You can't say, "My market is selling ebook". That's insane. Market, market, market.

Jeff Bezos of Amazon.com can say his market is selling all kinds of books online and he's RIGHT. Most people don't understand is that, there's only ONE Jeff Bezos. He is the pioneer and market leader. If you are going to have a business selling books online, just ask yourself this- will you buy books from amazon.com or some new site that you don't know? Go figure.

Once you know these, then learn tactics and strategies. There's a BIG myth that goes around saying that tactics are unimportant - you just need strategies. That's like saying... to achieve goals, use 'Laws of Attraction' but you don't need to know how to practice it.

Both are equally important.

Tactics are normally used for quick results and their effectiveness is subjected to change. They might work very effectively right now but 6 months down the road, they might not work anymore.

Strategies are more like principles that are set in stone but I'm not saying that they'll never change.

A quick example - using popup is a strategy that is proven to generate more sales. But different types of pop ups will give you different results. Knowing which type pop up to use, where and when IS tactical.

Once you have the tactics and strategies in your hand, then it's easy for you to determine what traffic source to use, what is your front-end income generator and so on.

Level one of marketers who don’t make money online is simply because they probably don't know what they truly want (long term or short term income), don't realize the importance of selecting a market or don't have strategies and tactics.

Level two are normally those who are tactical. To have consistent income, you'll need to be strategic and understand your business model.

Regardless of which level you're in, including level 3, you're result is about to change on 22nd August 2008.

If you're in level one, you'll start to make money online (short term or long term).

If you're in level two, you'll see your income increased and consistent.

If you're level three, your income will grow many times more because you'll have more experience to apply what you discover in Inside The Underground Marketing Lab Course.
