Sunday Email Part 23
If you're new to my subscription and wondering what is a "Sunday Email", it's an email full of my rants, personal tips and opinions on marketing especially in the "internet marketing" niche. Sometimes, opinions on life. Whatever it is... it'll give you value after spending time reading it. To make sure you won’t miss any future issue, subscriber for free at www.sundayemail.com
You know-- sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harshed. Cuts through like a ninja's blade. But come on, they're my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.
So if you can relate to what I wrote when reading it-- good because I know it had just served the purpose of helping people.
One more thing-- it'll offend marketers. I hope you're not the one.
Which One's Going To Help Me?
Are you subscribing to a lot of internet marketer’s list/newsletter?
I was going through my mailbox and I couldn't help to rant about this. My mailbox is flooded with prelaunch email promotions.
Just in this month alone, here are the big launches (not in any particular order):
*StomperNet's Social Marketing
*Derek Gehl's Turnkey Business
*Armand Morin's Internet Marketing Explained
*Frank Kern's Mass Site Control
*Mike Long's Toll Gate Method
This is not counting the small launches yet. The five launches above will generate millions or at least a few hundred thousands.
If none of these look familiar to you, it's good and bad. Good if you're focus of what you're doing in your own world and bad if you're shutting yourself out of the internet marketing world because you'll miss out to learn new cool stuff from them.
Sorry to dissapoint you but I'm not going to critique any of these. It's not that I don’t want to, I can't! These are all great programs created by the 'doers', not some flimsy, crappy bull of wannabe marketers. And I've met or communicated with most of them personally. As a matter of fact, I'll recommend you to buy one if you like the money-making ideas they are sharing. There's no affiliate link here to prove that I'm not bias because there's nothing in for me. Maybe, I might even end up getting a few of them for myself. :-)
But there's a problem to this-- If an average person wants to buy several of the courses, how is he going to do that? On average, each of them will cost at least a grant. Don't give me the bull that they'll pay on its own because you'll make more money by using them because you and me knows that not everyone will be a success story.
Here's a fact-- all marketers have their own product launch. Apart than the usual reason of helping people, it's their job to add value and generate income for themselves. Heck, it's my job as well. It's a lucrative business to create new courses and sell to the market.
The names I've mentioned above are the movers and shakers of the internet marketing niche. Holy crap, how do you think a normal marketer's going to launch his product in this marketplace? You can apply all kind of product launch techniques you know and it's still not going to generate the income you think it will.
In all of the product launches I've took part last 2 months, I've got the top 10 JV partners spot. These are Ewen Chia's Super Affiliates Membership, Yanik Silver's Info Players Workshop DVD, Nitro Marketing's NitroBlueprint and Jo Han Mok's Project Pill Gates. I can do this because I'm very selective towards the product to be promoted and also, I've been long in this 'game'. Spend years to build the business and relationship. Please, please don't get me wrong-- I'm not here to impress you but to stress a point which is... it's darn hard to promote launches as an affiliate and if you're expecting to have your own product launch, you better start preparation months ahead.
Most people are still diluted about making money online. They buy a $47 or $97 courses and wanted to make money online, trying to sell another internet marketing course or create one of their own kinds.
I'm sure those people are pissed now by reading my blog and probably unsubscribe from my list. Dude, it's either you want to face the truth and be prosperous or living in a fantasy world and get more pitches into your mailbox. Your choice.
"So, are you going to talk about being focus AGAIN, Patric?"
Ha. I would want to but I think I've mentioned that a million times in my past Sunday Email Series archive. So I'm going to rant on something else--
DON'T BE A DREAMER.
Buying the Social Marketing program won't give you No. 1 ranking in YouTube.com.
Or buying Internet Marketing Revealed will not make you money.
No programs will give you the red button which says, "Push this button once a day and money will come to you from the internet."
No programs. Including mine. Ahem.
It's about DOING IT. If you do, you get no. 1 placing in YouTube.com or build a successful internet business.
Can you?
Of course you can or will. Otherwise, why are you interested to read an internet marketing blog like this? :-)
If you can't, then you should buy a course to teach you how to take action.
But today's not the day to talk about 'taking actions' either. It's about how to apply what you're going to get from the courses. And the way to apply them successfully is to have a clear business model.
With a business model, then you know what you want.
A successful business model focuses on getting sales (I was reminded about this after reading "Ready, Fire, Aim: Zero to $100 Million in No Time Flat". Good book to read.)
Thus, the bottom line is this:
"Can This Course Compliments To What I'm Doing Right Now Or Will It Show Me A Practical Way To Make More Money Online?"
Sales, dude.
Focus on bringing that into your online business and other things are just part of your internet business. Now, please don't leave a Comment and says that customer service, product development, etc are equally or more important. We are not in the fifth grade to argue who's right or wrong. YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. I'm over generalizing simply to stress my point of HOW IMPORTANT sales are.
The Funniest Guarantees I've Ever Read
I 'accidentally' stumbled upon a salesletter for a one-on-one coaching program that this marketer is selling. I think he priced it at $5,000 or something like that. Maybe more, couldn't remember.
Here's the funny part:
If you join his coaching program, he'll guarantee you that you'll gain an increase of knowledge but he doesn't guarantee that you'll make money. Basically, I think he's saying that you'll be smarter but not richer.
Baloney crap. I think it's no different than him reading bedtime stories to you.
I couldn't believe there's marketer that has this kind of guarantee statement. If I want to increase my knowledge, I'll just read lots of courses and watch DVDs. I'm sure to expand my knowledge with that.
The only reason that someone wants to hire a coach because he needs the guarantee. When I used to take one-on-one coaching clients, my guarantee is simple-- follow the steps I've given and you'll make back at least your investment for your coaching's fee or I'll continue to coach you. So I have NO CHOICE but to make you become successful or else you'll latch on me and I can't build my own businesses.
That's the different of getting a wannabe internet marketing coach and a real one. The wannabe can't make the client successful because he probably has never made good money online in the first place. And he doesn't mind to continue 'coaching' you because he has nothing to lose. Dude, that IS his sole business.
End of rant.
If you're a marketer, remember to make your guarantee irresistible because this is the part where you'll seal the deal. Customers don't want to be more knowledgeable. They can read Reader's Digest for that. They want YOU to give them the solution that can be used.
Note: I don't have a one-on-one coaching program right now. I might have it open again somewhere in March and it'll cost in between $5,000 to $10,000. No sales pitch or salesletter. If you would be keen to receive the details of it when it's ready, please send an email to helpdesk@patricchan.name with the Subject: Interested For Coaching Program. No promises that I'll have one but if I do, you'll get to be in the program since I'm only selecting a few to work with.

Hi Patric, while I agree with most of what you are saying, the thing is this:
The internet marketing niche has been hyped up by too many "gurus" as the "get-rich-quick" way to success.
I mean... Look at all the sales letters.
Look at the triggers.
Most, if not all, of them are not selling Internet Marketing. They are selling "dreams". They are selling "hope".
They tout Internet Marketing as "Easy", "Minimal Effort" and "Millions in my bank".
Come on! Both of us know that's not true. How long did you have to work at it to be the person you are today? Certainly not a few hours a week.
But the thing is... internet marketing gurus NEGLECT to tell the newbies all this in their sales letter. I doubt a lot of people will buy into the idea if they knew how much work goes on behind the scenes.
All the newbies are tempted by the pictures of "fast cars", "great properties" and "5 or 6 figure cheques" on almost all internet marketing sales letters...
Internet Marketing is not a GET-RICH-QUICK Scheme. Like all businesses, it must be built on solid foundations. How I wish people will just get that into their heads.

Hi SJ,
Thank you for your Comment. I've wrote about this as well at my past issues -- http://internetmarketing-tactics.com/blog/2007/11/sunday-email-part-18.html
But tactics will face out because customers/consumers will become smarter. The way of marketing years ago and today is very different.
Especially with the boom of private label rights over the recent years, anyone can 'create' content easily.
At the same time, the real marketers will stand out because of the results they have generated for themselve and for the clients.

Hi Patric,
I have been following the launching and was moved by their irresistible offer.
However, I choose to focus on my product creation first.
I don't think I'm ready yet. :)
Hi Raymond,
If it helps, you might want to consider ordering them. Of course, for the courses that compliments to what you're doing or fit the puzzle.
They are all great courses or else I won't be listing them here. :-)

Well, it's still too costly for me at time being.
I really know that they are all good stuffs. I have been following their pre-launch videos since last year.
I must work smarter to earn more.
Well, very well said Patric.
There isn't a course on the planet that can make people rich, or even make any cash, if they don't do anything to change their situation.
The thing is, at least from what I've noticed in my own time, is that, eventually the people that really, really want to be successful, do eventually figure out how much work it really is.
But, because they crave the desire bad enough it still doesn't deter them from going after it, even though it's a lot tougher than they figured.
I remember exchanging emails with David Bullock who is now with the Stompernet faculty apparently, and he stated the same thing pretty much.
The people that stick it out through the ups and downs, of trial and error, but eventually learn better methods of building a business usually end up doing pretty good.
I guess it depends on how bad a person wants it, and, who's information are they learning from, at the start.
It's good to see you trying to help people short cut their way to success.
Cheers
Davin
Hello Patrick.
Getting my Laptop set up and coming in as new to marketing on the internet I went through the search engines looking for the "Yellow Brick Road".
I stumbled across one of the big names you have just mentioned who was advertising a mentoring course and I was hooked almost immediately on the big promises of "making money on the interenet."
Big piles of money needed to get in on the dream and so I shook up the box holding my hard earned money and just about found all that I needed.
Hey yes, this was spending a huge amount of bucks but.... "here come the big times and speculate to accumulate"... that's how I saw it anyway.
Then I only just made the deadline 'cause you know what, the mentoring course could only accept a limited amount of people and time was running low!!(heard that before somewhere?)
Anyhow,12 weeks or so later Patrick, guess where I am now.
Yep!! right back where I started from.
I still don't know how to set up my own website.
Still don't know how to run my aweber account efficiently.
Still don't have huge amounts of traffic to the website that was set up for me.
Still don't know how to update the website and I still keep spending silly amounts of money on Google adwords.
However, after signing up with the mentor, one of the biggest of the high flyers you have already mentioned, I am often bombarded with e-mails offering the rest of their wares.
Who is getting the most out of this I wonder?
"Fools Rush in where wise men never go"!!!
Regards, B. Potter
Richard hit it in his comment. The so called gurus hype the hope. If they told the truth, that it takes as much, if not more, time to make money online than their regualr job, then no one would buy their products.
And they would not be rich, and they would not be considered a "guru".
Hi Patric,
Since Sunday Email is a Rant, I say it from my heart.
Dare to say, I joined 'Chan Do Chartered Membership' hopefully to enhance myself to at least see 'Light at the end of the Tunnel' and I bought Backend Mastery(some zip.file can't be open)not really knowing what is it ? {Now I know after listening to the audios. It's Step 20, maybe as mention by Armand Morin).
Why ? Because I want to take action & show commitment, and I worry I can't get it at this 'Special Price' while I still can afford to pay for it but most importantly the 'Content of the Product' that can help me achieve my Goals & Desire.(It will when I reach this Stage one day).
And now, the "Chan Do Internet Success System Home Course" which I wanted to buy last year, has been offered again, before even I can absord 'Chan Do Chartered Membership' materials.
My question is which one should I forcus on first? (Armand Morin's OutofSequentialism).
Today's Rant mention it all and I do watch all the videos on StomperNet, Derek Gehl's Turnkey Business, Armand Morin's Internet Marketing Explained, Frank Kern's Mass Site Control & Mike Long's Toll Gate Method as I am their subscriber.
Boy.. it's nightmare for me now and can't imagine the Price of this valuable launch... How I wish to at least grab one of the Big Launches.
Is "Chan Do Internet Success System Home Course" one-time payment ?
Bless...
Frankie
