"I Just Need To Follow Instructions!"
The lifestyle of internet income is amazing.
You can earn money while you sleep because it's running 24 hours a day, you get paid in advance because customers pay first before accessing or getting your product, internet business allows you to leverage on systems, most of the tasks can be automated and a long list of goodies.
At the same time, it makes me very confused...
Why some people can become so rich on the internet while most of them, failed. I mean, they have bought great courses that show them step-by-step to profit: so what's the problem, dude?
I'm sure the courses work unless they're scams. Although, some bought into scams but assuming that they got themselves the real deal. The simplest way to differentiate a real deal or not is to see whether the course creator/owner is an expert in what he teaches and have proven result to show you.
I now know why courses didn't work and I didn't figure out this fact by my own.
My student helped me to see it, finally.
It has nothing to do with motivation or self-help perk talk.
You see, I've already given him the precise steps to success. And yet after 6 months, he made nothing. Not only I'm confused, I'm slightly unhappy because it's my commitment to help my students to achieve their desired goal on the internet. At the same time, I know what I've given him WORK because my other students are able to make money online.
It boiled down to a simple reason...
Most people failed because they failed to follow instructions.
Isn't that crazy? Not really and I'll explain to you in a short while why this can happened. But really, if you follow the instructions given in the real deal courses rigidly, I'm sure you'll make money online-- or at least earn back the amount of what you've paid for the courses! I've always make it a point that every single dollar I've invested into education, I'll use that knowledge to make back the investment or earn more.
SO WHY PEOPLE DON'T FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS?
First, people cannot follow instructions because they have their own analytical skill. Trust me, it's not their fault. It's not your fault. When the instruction conflicts with their own logic thinking, it'll go haywire.
Then there's the Smart Alecs who like to combine their own knowledge or mix two courses into one instead of following the simple given instructions to success. This is a creative method to get better result and I do recommend it. Thats how Anthony Robbins created NAC (Neuro-Associative Conditioning) from NLP (Neuro-linguistic programming). But don't do any tweaking unless you know what you're doing or least, already have result based on following the instructions given. Agreed?
Why else people don't follow instruction?
Sometimes, it's not that they don't want to but they can't due to lack of understanding towards the education. If this is the case, ALWAYS go back to the creator of the course to clarify what he means!
If you're doing that, I want to warn you ahead: Make sure you'll be precised with your questions. I mean, if you're reading a course about how to get traffic and you ask him how to get traffic, slight chance you'll even get a reply. :-) But if you ask him what does he means by the sentence on page 45 using 'viral marketing', applied to 'enthical bribe method' and so on, you might get a good reply. Make sure it's precise and make sense too.
But the BIGGEST problem why they can't take instruction is probably because they're taking too many instructions at one go! If I'm learning 10 courses at the same time and following all of their instructions, I think I won't have time to eat, sleep or take a shower. Stay focus. One at a time.
Speaking of following instructions, Kevin Wilke of Nitro Marketing has released a 17-minute video disclosing the 10 simple steps that creates your own full-time income while LOVING what you do. Is the video good? Well, there are 73 comments about it with excellent praises so I'll let you decide by yourself.

Hi Patric,
I always stay in info-overload state.
Man, I do many things in one time and never get it done sharply.
I believe it's the same as you've mentioned in this post.
It really hard to beat this state and go with just one instruction/course.
Do you have any suggestion on mind power to force myself to focus on the only one instruction/course?
Take care,
Hi Patric,
I totally agree with you.
I have been going no where for the first half of the year when I first started out because of the same reason.
Thankfully that things turns around when I began to follow instruction.
Great article. :)
I consider my self 2 in 1 that you explain above ( instruction and my own taught) end up my self were information overloaded:-
1. Not enough sleep
2. Headed
3. Not healthy.
And now with the blog you just post, I was at starting point again with knowing where should I start and what should I focus.
I believe due to coming 2008, I reschedule my 'head' again :)
cheers,
Rosli
As someone who was named "Alex" I plead guilty to being a "smart Alex".
:-)
I did follow instructions in the first I.M. course I entered but the course was a turkey; the second course too. The first proper course I found was the YCDI Home Study Course I did last year.
There's a saying, "If all else fails follow the instructions!"
Strange really, even when instructions are available we seem to need to prove we can do things on our own!
I still tried to follow 2 or 3 projects at once though and I only began to make real progress when I dropped all but one project.
The lesson is focus!
High quality tuition plus commitment plus focus = success!
took me three years to figure that out!
Soon after I did focus on one project I got my first Clickbank cheque...then the second...
Thanks for all Your Help
Alex Newell
Hey Patric,
I guess people try a few things because they find the original "one" way is not working out for them. Then it becomes a cycle, like the "pursuit of happyness", where success seems 1 desert and mirage away.
