Sunday Email Part 18
**To avoid missing the next issue, go to www.SundayEmail.com now**
If you're new to my subscription and wondering what is a "Sunday Email", it's an email full of my rants, personal tips and opinions on marketing especially in the "internet marketing" niche. Sometimes, opinions on life. Whatever it is... it'll give you value after spending time reading it.
You know-- sometimes my Sunday Emails can be harshed. Cuts through like a ninja's blade. But come on, they're my rants. If I want to keep everyone happy and write about the colorful rainbow, birds chirping, flowers blooming, etc then I should just opens up a nursery home and take care of children.
So if you can relate to what I wrote when reading it-- good because I know it had just served the purpose of helping people.
One more thing-- it'll offend marketers. I hope you're not the one.
Beware of Scammers
You think I'm kidding about scammers, don't you.
Scams and manipulations are getting worse because more and more people are getting desperate.
You've heard about Myspace.com, right?
You see, I wanted to signup for a MySpace.com account last week. I wanted to use the username "patric" but it's already taken at http://myspace.com/patric by someone living in New York.
So I've gone ahead to register for username "patricchan". I was surprise when MySpace.com system said that user is already taken! So out of curiosity I went to see who's
http://myspace.com/patricchan.
I was SHOCK!
It was "Patric Chan"!
But it wasn't me. There's an imposter that uses my name, picture, content, etc and claimed to be me, outright lying to people on the internet.
Since there's a possibility that the imposter is a subscriber of mine and will remove it after reading this Sunday Email, I've screen captured it below for you to see.
Click here to see the image whole size.
In "my" MySpace.com, there are product recommendations. For those who did not know that this is an imposter, they'll think it's recommended by me and got cheated.
I'm not sure-- but I think in certain countries, they can get sued or jailed for imposing to be someone else.
In my previous Sunday Email, I've mentioned about fake income screen shots. Don't you feel it's such a coincidence that many new products/websites suddenly seemed to have clickbank.com screen shot of sales made per day? Hmm. Seems like everyone with their dog is having nowadays.
If someone dares to fake a MySpace.com account, what else 'marketers' will not think of doing?
Because most 'fake' marketers realized that income screen shots of Paypal, Clickbank.com, Adsense or 1ShoppingCart.com income/sales works. So they copy the same strategy as those marketers who have real result or real income screen shots. But the fake marketers never have that kind of sales volume at all.
For instance, I've bought an ebook about blogging to make money online from a
'new' marketer. On its salesletter, it shows how much money he's making from Google Adsense and Clickbank affiliate sales. When I read the book, I was really wondering how he make that kind of income because the techniques taught in the ebook are nothing 'unique' or possible to earn that kind of money!
It's like... set up free blogs from www.blogger.com
Find keywords.
Post content.
Submit to social bookmarking sites.
Get tons of backlinks.
I find the information was nothing new but that's still ok. I mean, it's irrelevant whether they are new or not because what's important is whether they work or not. But come on-- make 5-figure income a month by doing this? Funny thing was, I can't find any of his blog's url as example in the book at all. So how do you tell he's teaching based on theories or experience? Private label are everywhere nowadays.
And most unauthentic marketers will write incredible profiles. Profiles that will blow your mind off because they're so incredible. However, how do you know that they're not overly sugar coated? This is a free country. They can write anything they like about themselves and there's nothing wrong about it.
Is this a war against scammers? No. Why would I want to go into a war with them because I've nothing to win or gain. I don't get any incentives. But I'm writing this because you're my valuable reader and I really hate to see you becoming a victim.
The point here is this-- Don't believe any income or sales screen shot image unless you know the marketer or have done your own research. You CAN believe they're real if it's from a trusted marketer because he'll be silly to pull such a fake stunt. If his false facts are revealed, there goes his internet marketing 'career'. So really, he won't be faking you out to make quick cash. But if it's a new guy on the block, he has nothing to lose by risking with a fake income shot. Who knows-- some will take the bite and he'll laugh his way to the bank.
Wait. There's a marketing lesson that I want to share... "Once bitten, twice shy". Like the blogging book I've bought-- I'm sure I won't buy any products from him again.
Focus On Giving Value
Do you know how much your info-product's worth?
The answer should be priceless because it's really hard to put a price tag to it. But assuming you can. Let's say you think that your product is worth $1,000. Then sell it for just 10% or less of its value positioned.
To make a sale, focus on the worth of the value that you can give but don't offer it at the price that it's worth. Make sense?
It's like-- will customer give you $1 if they can get back $10? This isn't a complex science to me and bet you'll figure out the answer.
Like, I've bought Jo Han Mok's Million Dollar Network right away when he sold it at www.milliondollarpromos.com. It's sold out now and it's pretty obvious why. Basically, he was selling the rights to sell 7 of his products where you'll get to keep 100% sales profit. The value is priceless because I know by owning that license, I can make AT LEAST 10 times back the money I've paid to him in a month. One of the licenses includes getting private label material from 2,000 pages of his content.
Side note: Because the offer was too good to true, I've persuaded Jo Han to allow me to sell 15 more of the licenses when he stopped selling. I still got 2 licenses available if you're interested to grab it.Click here to get the Million Dollar Network License before they're gone...
Another example is the Chan Do Chartered Membership. See the details at www.sundayemail.com/chartered.html.
The value given worth easily hundreds of dollars but the investment to join is the price of dinner for two only. So it's a no brainer I can get close to 200 members to join before the price increase soon.
Mark Flournoy of ThinkRichSoftware.com wrote this testimonial as Chartered Member...
"If you want a top internet marketer as your personal mentor you need to join The Chan Do Chartered Membership. That's what it's been like for me. Patric has shown me fast new ways to create income and streamline my business. I look forward to the coaching calls because I can check my plans, learn from others in the group and even have some fun. Programs like this usually cost hundreds of dollars a month. I almost hate to share this information because I don't want competitors to know about him. He's that good."

How Do Get Into The Internet Marketing Niche?
By means, being in the internet marketing niche means teaching others how to market on the internet. Then you can sub-niche yourself into teaching people how to get traffic, how to build a list, how to write a salesletter, how to become an affiliate marketer and the list goes on.
The first part is identifying your main strength and branding yourself on a certain internet marketing topic. Don't be a marketer teaching people how to get traffic. Plenty of them already existed. But teach people how to get traffic from a specific method. Maybe, it could be from eBay.com. Or Amazon.com. Or Myspace.com. Or whatever discovery you have.
Claim your authority in a market that has not been claimed yet.
Then build alliances with other internet marketers. This is the tough part but it's possible. I'm not here to teach you about building relationship or Joint Venture here because this is not my main expertise. Go to your local bookstore or Amazon.com to pick up books related to relationship-building. For joint venture lessons, just use Google.com to search for good resources. Unless you need recommendations, then let me know and I'll give you a few that I can think of.
If it's so easy, why most marketers still fail even after taking these 2 valuable pieces of advice?
There are many reasons but here is the main one I see most of the time-- they expect everything to happen in a week. Real relationship is not build in a week. It takes time. Sometimes, it takes years. It's an 'investment'.
Relationship cannot be rushed.
Relationship has to be build naturally.
Relationship is build when there's a bond of trust.
I mean, I'm sure you don't go and meet people and say, "Let's be friends" or "I want to be your friend." It happens naturally, right?
If you have been reading the "Sunday Email" series, I'll always ask for your favor to leave a Comment if you find value of what you've read. It'll be most appreciated because I read all of them personally. (smile)

Hi Patric
Love your Sunday mail...
Funny thing about your myspace prob. I came across that very person and thought it was really YOU! Sorry, I couldn't tell.
The next thing is the income images. I wrote about this on my blog back in March. You can view it HERE
Keep up the great comments!

Hi Walter,
Thank you for the compliments. And I'm sure you're not the only guy who thought it was me in MySpace.com. :-)

Wow... If I go to myspace and search for your name, I bet I will be fooled too.
Have you contacted the "bas**rd"? :) He cannot be let off easily. He may be earning lots of affiliate income by such methods.
Btw, may I know what's the blogging ebook you are talking about? I would like to know the guy, so I won't buy into it. You may send me a private email regarding this. Thank you! horchew [at] gmail dot com
Patric,
I just checked out the MySpace 'you' ... no way I'd ever believe that was you - the English is too good [grin /].
No slur intended, but I just cannot imagine you generating a MySpace account and having someone proofread it.
I'd expect it to be just like your Sunday rants. That it isn't would make me very suspicious of any offer from that account.
The sentence structure is also different from what you've used on offers that I've seen in the past.
The person seems to have picked up some information about you, but overall, the page just doesn't ring true to what little I know of you.
Make a good day ...
... barn
My eyes went this way -> @.@ when I saw the subject of your email, and I didn't hesitate clicking the link to find out who the impostor is.
Like you told me over the drink on 19 Oct... it's far too common nowadays.
So, buyer beware!

If someone is trying to get sales for his/her affiliate link/s by pretending to be you, you CAN sue that person for using your reputation to sell online/offline.
Anyway, your next best move is to make a complaint to YouTube and see what they say.
Good luck n keep up this great blog!
Kelly

Hi Kelly,
Thanks for the advice. I've already contacted MySpace.com but I got to go through some processes to proof I'm genuine. It'll be taken care soon.
About sueing, I'm sure this is possible.
Thanks!
-Patric
Hi, Patrick
The MySpace impersonation is serious and not to taken lightly. Your reputation is at stake, dude. DO NOT ignore it.
Have you complained to MySpace? That site originates in the US, and what he's doing is illegal here. You could also complain to the United States FTC (Federal Trade Commission).
The above are just two suggestions off the top of my head. There are other options, as well.
I'm Internet savvy and a good researcher. I'm going to reply to your Sunday email, so you'll have my email address. I'll be glad to help you find resources to deal with this if MySpace doesn't boot this punk off the site.
BTW, I'd let the MySpace people know you intend to go to the FTC if they don't take care of it.
All the best,
Sally
Hi Sally,
Thank you for your concern.
I've contacted MySpace.com and if they did not take action later on, I'll probably seek your advice.
Again, your concern is very much appreciated and I agree with you that this is not to be taken lightly.
-Patric
Hi Patric,
There is certainly someone out there who either does have the same name as you, or is impersonating you.
I have received lots of spam email from him (which I know is not from you). The next time I get spam from him, before I delete it, I'll send you a copy.
Regards,
Jeff Henshaw.
Patric,
I am amazed that you are not keenly aware of all of the liars thieves and cheats connected with the Internet Marketing community. That is what most of it is made up of.
They are like politicians they cannotr separate the truth from a lie and most of them are actuallu clueless and have no ethics or integrity. Both are important. I have tried to participate in the give aways and have been rejected based in the fact that I use the giveawys to build a real business not as a vehicle to bleed people of their finances based on lies.

Hi Patric,
Proud on you, are you agree I report abuse to customer service of myspace? So you'll have space in myspace there to be as Top Mentor. Great Chan-ce doing this as a bit give back to you. Thanks.
Hey Patric,
Well you could say its a form a complement to copy you? even though he has blatently taken your picture.....
Sure this happens a lot in myspace and they should deal with it on a daily basis....I do not agree with some of the broad coments here about all "internet marketing" promoters being liars and cheats...shouldnt put all of us in the same box!
Paul

Hi Paul,
It doesn't put you in the box because you're not using fake screen shot of incomes.
Cheers

Hi Patric,
Sorry to hear that you have been scammed by those scammer.
Just be cautious, my blogs was scammed by hundreds of spam mails and comments??
cheers,
flwong
Hi Patric,
I don't know if you remember me. We traded emails regarding your products I bought before. Anyway that's past, what I want to comment is that while true that most internet marketers are the real-deal, sadly there are only few ethical marketers. It's very rare to see them and I see you're one of the few.
~Clifford
Sorry about your problem. Thanks for the head-up. Who knows it can happen to me too, one of these days.
Good luck Patric, it kinda good to know fellow Malaysian has made it BIG in Internet Marketing.
Greetings and lotta loves from Kuale Kangsor.
Hi Patric,
Good Lord!! I taught it was you there after the UYMG ideas that we got from Pierce! I mean, who-in-the-world would have thought that YOU don't have presence in MySpace, Facebook, Squidoo, ...etc...etc!!
As Pierce mentioned, it's abt positioning! That CHEAT, 'positioned' himself as you!!
Truth is after this, I'm gonna be more wary of "Real" IM, bcoz we don't know if it's really who they claim to be! Good Lord again!! I'm just getting the hang of IM, so I'm sticking to trusted sites and people!
Been reading your sites..real value. Wasn't able to attend your course in Penang, as something urgent came up! I've paid and trying to get things sorted out!
Keep writing.
Dr Kumar (We met in UYMG)
p.s. A piece of suggestion...get your name registered by your staffs in ALL the Social Bookmarking Sites!
Why? Bcoz it's VERY POPULAR!!!
Well, your "followers" will keep an eye out for you and reconfirm if it's really you! :-)
Hello Patric, I enjoy your posts. You speak from your heart.

Scammers are everywhere. Its sad to be exploited like that. I know many others are experiensing the same thing. These people should be charged.

Hi Patrick
I think some people will stop way below the levels they should to get a sale and it's disgraceful.
I do love you comments on pricing your product though, never thought of it that way, thanks!
